For Vista/Win 7, Turn User Accounts off:

Turning User Accounts off will stop Vista/Win7 from interfering with changes on the computer. Turning UAC off will also get rid of 'nag screens' which pop up each time a change is attempted on the computer. (They will be replaced by another nag screen warning that UAC has been turned off. Thank you Microsoft.)

Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and click on 'Change User Account Control settings'...

For Windows 7, turn User Accounts off by dragging the slider bottom to its lowest setting and click OK:

Ignore Windows' warning about 'Not recommended'.

For Vista, UNCHECK the box and click OK:

Ignore Windows' recommendation to leave UAC on.

Reboot the computer.
