Processing a Gift Certificate in Best Consignment Shop Software
Using BCSS, settlement payment may be split into two parts using a variety of payment options. Pay 1/2 in cash and 1/2 in store credit, 1/3 by check and 2/3 in store gift certificates. Payment in store credit allows the consignor to purchase items from your store and pay for them with their earnings. Here's how it works:
Set the payment type (in either field) to 'credit'. The amount entered next to the payment type (either all or part of the amount due) will be added to the consignor's Balance Adjustment. When the consignor makes a purchase, select consignor Credit Purchase from Sales in the top menus. A window will open listing the consignors that have a positive account balance. Chose the consignor and click OK. A sales window opens which has default entries showing the payment method as 'Consignor', along with the amount of the credit in the 'Paid' field. Change the amount paid to reflect the cost of the purchase. Select the items to be purchased and process the sale. Inventory is reduced, income for the day is increased and the cost of the purchase is deducted from the consignor's account balance.
