The BCSS Manual is illustrated step-by-step instruction for learning how to use the program. Press F1 anywhere within BCSS to access it.

First, please reboot and close all programs on your computer.

If you have installed BCSS before, please backup your data, uninstall (Start, Programs, BCSS Windows, Uninstall) before reinstalling and delete the folder C:\Program Files\BCSS (RIGHT-click Start, Explore, select C:, select Program Files, Delete the BCSS folder).

Click on the Windows link in the above table matching your computer's Windows edition. A window will open asking "What would you like to do with this file?" Photo

Do not select 'Run'. Chose 'Save this program to disk' and click 'OK'.

A window named 'Save As' will open. Photo

If 'Desktop' is not showing in the 'Save in' field, click on the down arrow to the right of the 'Save in' field and select 'Desktop'. (What is a 'Desktop'? How do I find it?)

Click 'Save'.

Note that the demo file will be placed on your computer's Desktop. (The file name will vary, depending upon your Windows version and your selection, but will look something like 'diamond-Setup-xp.exe'.)

A 'Download Complete' window will appear when the download is finished. Photo

On the next window, select 'Run'. Microsoft Windows will present this message: "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?" This is only a precaution and it is safe to run the BCSS installation.

Click 'Next' on the 'Welcome to the Installation Wizard' window.

Check the box 'Yes, I agree with all the terms of this License Agreement.' and click 'Next'.

Click 'Next' to acknowledge that BCSS will be installed on your computer at C:\Program Files\BCSS. (The program is saved on your PC's C: drive, in a folder named 'Program Files', in a subfolder named 'BCSS'.)

Click 'Next' on the following window, entitled 'Program Group' to acknowledge that BCSS will be added to your computer's Program Group as 'Best Consignment Shop Software'.

Click 'Next' again on the 'Ready to Install the Program' screen. Your computer will copy and install the BCSS files.

Check 'Run BCSS Now?' and click 'Next'. Your computer will hesitate for a few seconds while it loads the program.

Even though the BCSS program is open, it's a good idea at this point to close it and reboot your computer, then restart BCSS using the new icon on your desktop to start BCSS. (If no icon is present, go to Start, Programs, and click on 'BCSS Intro Edition' (which may be the last entry in the list.)
