The first rule is to avoid purchasing hardware from software vendors. They (we) only do so as an added source of revenue but our prices are not the best available and purchasing from software vendors adds nothing to the level of service or length of warranties and guarantees. We will assist you in assuring that your hardware is compatible with BCSS but other vendors are likely to deny hardware support even if you purchased from them and Consignpro will even charge $40 for 'printer support'.
Liberty and Consignpro both tack on shipping fees at the end of the ordering process (approximately 4-5%). We and several Internet sources of hardware do not add shipping fees.
'Refurbished' hardware is available on eBay. (Components are examined and non-working parts are replaced.) We are not necessarily recommending eBay but prices can be half or less of prices for new hardware.
If refurbished is too much risk, search Google for the model and/or part # and check the results.
Here's an example:
Liberty sells the Zebra LP2824SA Direct Thermal Barcode Printer for $399 and adds on $17.95 shipping for a total of $416.95. Search Google using the model # LP2924SA http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2006-08,GGLG:en&q=LP2824SA
The same printer, brand new with all cables, manuals and free shipping is available from PositivelyPos.com for $235.
eLo 15" Touch Screen Monitor - Liberty: Cleverly priced at $599 but over $600 after shipping is tacked on. Internet prices: in the $300 range.
Today as much as ever it is just as important to save a dollar as to earn one. Hopefully in this Forum we will work together to lower operating costs for all who venture this way. _________________ Steve Henning
