Does BCSS support QuickBooks?
Yes! Export information about consignors, customers, vendors and employees, inventory, sales and checks (settlements) directly into QuickBooks. BCSS exports by making a file that QB can read. Just choose the category of information you want to export in the BCSS 'Export to QuickBooks' menu then import into QuickBooks.
Can I export data?
Yes. Export any data as a .csv (comma-separate value) file and import into most major software programs like Quicken, Peachtree, Microsoft Office...
What system resources are required?
This software is small in size and as fast as your PC's storage capacity, processor speed and memory. BCSS will run on any IBM-compatible Windows system with at least 256 MB of RAM memory but memory requirements are determined by the amount of information your computer must store and process - not the size of the program processing the information. Shops with a few thousand inventory entries should have at least 512 MB and a clock speed of at least 1.0 ghz. Windows XP is highly recommended for stability.
For large operations storing 10,000 or more inventory items, greater horsepower is needed: 1.5 ghz Pentium IV or AMD processor - not Celeron - at least 512 MB RAM - 3 gigs free disk space - especially for Windows 98/ME which are slow to release virtual memory no longer in use, especially if virtual memory is limited. Also, lengthy periods of printing will cause the system to run out of resources. The 3-gig space should help to avoid that.
Based upon our experience, we recommend purchasing new systems and peripherals from Dell. (We are not compensated for recommending Dell.) Most hardware ships with a one-year warranty. If something goes wrong, Dell will have a technician at your computer within 2 business days. They also guarantee peripherals (like printers). Sales and service are excellent. A Dell Dimension E510 with 256MB of RAM, XP Home Edition is about $18/month.
Can data be transferred from an existing software program?
Yes. We only need the database and a copy of the software program.
What about customer support?
