Updating PPSS
Check for the latest version at http://www.bestconsignmentshopsoftware.com/pawn-software-updates.htm. To update, back up your data first, uninstall PPSS and download the latest version. If your PC is not connected to the Internet, download from a PC that is and burn the setup.exe file to a CD. Use the CD to install. CD updates are available ($15) from support or 901-837-9155 or order online.
PPSS is best viewed if screen resolution is set to 1024x768 (or greater). This is strongly recommended. Also, when PPSS is first opened, resize windows to your liking.
What do I do first? Run the PPSS Wizard. Select Files, Wizard Configuration. Enter 'default information' such as your shop name, address, sales-tax. Each time a new pawner or inventory item is entered, this information will be automatically entered to reduce manual data entry and errors.
Will installing the unlock code destroy my data?
No. All data input into the 14-day demo will be saved. Back up data every day, if not more often, and always back up data before uninstalling PPSS.
How can pawners, inventory, and sales numbers be arranged in numerical or alphabetical order?
Click the headers in the table to sort data. Click the header again to reverse the sort order (A-Z, Z-A).
How do I print an inventory list for just one pawner?
Go to the Inventory Work Area. Under Define Report, Pawner, select the pawner from the drop-down menu. Under Printer Reports, press Inventory List.
How can old inventory be deleted?
Go to Top Tool Bar, Inventory, Batch Delete Inventory. Set the date prior to which data should be deleted. Click OK. A message will appear confirming the deletions.
After clicking on an icon, nothing happens.
The screen that should have appeared may be 'minimized'. Look for an icon for the screen in the system tray at the bottom of the computer screen and select it. Alternatively, hold the Alt Key down and hit the Tab Key (repeatedly in necessary).
Icons / Tool Bars Aren't Visible
Icons and tool bars can be toggled off and on. Right-click the Top Tool Bar and choose which are to be shown.
