For Vista/Win 7, Turn User Accounts off:

Turning User Accounts off will stop Windows from interfering each time you want to make a change on the computer.

Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and click on 'Change User Account Control settings'...

For Windows 7, turn User Accounts off by dragging the slider bottom to its lowest setting:

For Vista, UNCHECK the box and click OK:

It is not necessary to reboot the computer.



Download and Set Up the PPSS Installation File:

Download the PPSS Installer from http://www.bestconsignmentshopsoftware.com/kapersky-ppss.htm.

Answer 'Yes' or 'No' to the Kaspersky question.

On the next screen scroll down and find the PPSS edition you wish to download (Intro, Deluxe, Diamond, Diamond for Florida, 24k, 24k for Florida) and click on the blue download link (like 'Download Deluxe for Windows Vista/7/XP').

Don't choose 'Run'. Choose 'Save' and save the file to the Desktop.



For XP...

Double click on the installation file...

Follow the prompts to install the software. (Answer "yes" if asked if files should be overwritten.)

When the installation is done, click Finish. (Your computer may suggest a reboot. If so, reboot then when Windows comes back up, double click the new Desktop Icon to run the program.



For Vista and Win7 - Run the Installation as Administrator

On the Desktop RIGHT click on the installation file.

Choose 'Run as administrator':

Follow the prompts to install the software. (Answer "yes" if asked if files should be overwritten.)

When the installation is done, click Finish. (Windows may suggest a reboot. If so, reboot then when Windows comes back up, double click the new Desktop Icon to run the program.



Configure the Desktop Icon to Run PPSS as Administrator

Right click on the new Desktop Icon named 'PPSS Run'.

Select Properties.

Click Unblock (if it is present at the bottom of the General screen).

Click on the Compatibility tab.

At the bottom click 'Change (or Show) settings for all users'. (Ignore this if the option is grayed out. This happens on Vista machines.)

Check 'Run this program as an Administrator'.

Click Apply then OK.

Check 'Run this program as an Administrator' again.

Click OK to close the Properties window.



Run the Program and Configure PPSS for Your Business

Double click the PPSS Icon to run the program.

In PPSS, in the upper left corner, click on File...

...then click on Program Setup (not shown).

Click on each colored tab at the top and complete information on each screen as it pertains to your business and how you will use the program. Spend a few minutes reading each page closely so you'll know where things are for future reference. Click Save/Exit when settings are completed.

In PPSS click on Help (upper right) and select Tutorial.

Refer to the PPSS manual for instructions for using PPSS. The manual can be opened in PPSS by pressing the F1 key.
