Creating BCSS Reports

'Reports' are simply lists of information. 'Printed Reports' may be sheets of labels or just lists of information. 'Displayed Reports' are two columns of information displayed in the table to the right in BCSS.

The content of a report is defined by setting 'Filters' under 'Define the Report'. (Filters 'filter out' unwanted information or include wanted information.) Filters (and selections made under 'Send Report to Printer' and 'Send Report to Screen') determine what information will appear in a report.

How to Create a Report

In the example below (from the Consignors Work Area (F6)), 'Birthday', 'Last New Item' and 'Last Sale' are filters. Dates may be set so that only records within the specified dates will be printed or displayed in a report.

For example, to print or display consignors who had items sold during the period 1/1/07 to 6/30/07, check the filter 'Last Sale'. Set the first date for 1/1/07 and the second for 6/30/07. The report will include only those consignors who had a sale during this period. Easy!

Print Reports or View Them on Screen

Print reports by selecting the options under 'Send Report to Printer' - 'Mailing Label', 'List by Consignor ID' or 'List by Name'. View reports (in the table) by selecting one of the 3 options under 'Send Report to Screen' - 'Inventory Count > 0' (Show all consignors with at least one inventory item.); 'List by Last Settlement' or 'List by Last Item'.

Congratulations! Knowing the information on this page alone gives you a good head start on understanding consignment software functions. Just use the menu at the top of this Wizard or the buttons at the bottom to go directly to topics of interest.

All data entered will be saved after the demo period. Data will be lost if the demo is uninstalled but may be restored if it was backed up. (See Utilities, Backup in BCSS.)
